More about www.feingold.org

This is just some more information on www.feingold.org, the website that I will be analyzing for my third paper. The people that interact on this site the most would be parents, medical professionals and educational professionals. Most people find out from their child's pediatrician or the program is recommended by a friend.

The purpose of this site is to inform the public about the harmful substances that are in our food and the problems that can occur. This is not a diagnosis or a prescription, but a healthy diet and does not replace medication. However in severe cases with the aid of medication, one may have more success treating issues on the program than with just medication alone. The Feingold association is a non-profit organization that is ran by volunteers. They contact companies and look for foods that are free of synthetic colorings, flavorings, Aspartame, and synthetic preservatives BHA, BHT,and TBHQ.

The site works really well actually! I checked every link and they all work, big surprise right! Well to be honest I was expecting a few links to not work since this is ran by volunteers. It's a fairly simple layout with three button links along the top underneath that there are pictures of success stories and a video you can watch. There is a column on the left side of the page, this is where the main menu is located. Under the success stories and video the rest of the page has two columns. The site is easy to navigate there are a few links that will take you away from the main site that you will have to navigate back to them from. The ordering process is easy and secure transaction. The site may take a while to read through due to all the information listed.

The majority of the site is information, however as a parent looking for a solution I found this very thorough. They have studies, and success stories, my son's pediatrician recommended this program to us. They give you all the tools that you could need when you become a member, they offer a shopping guide to tell you what foods that are approved and where they can be purchased from. This program is basically just going back to the way food used to be, when it was pure and free from additives. This isn't just for kids too, it's for anyone that is experiencing any of the symptoms that would like to improve their health.
